Souvenir de Quito is an electronic composition based around a sample recorded on my trip to Quito, Ecuador. The original recording, taken at Resturante Yaravi in Quito, features classic Ecuadorian sounds of the guitar, charango, and pan flute. With this recording as its base, the surrounding composition forms with the addition of several layers. This includes the added ambience of a crowd, as if you are listening to a street performance, as well as synths and sampled instruments. The overall effect and purpose: to blur the line between acoustic and electronic.
